Tunisian agritech startup RoboCare has secured an undisclosed six-figure investment from venture capital firm 216 Capital to accelerate the expansion of its AI-powered precision agriculture platform across Africa and the Middle East.
Founded in Sfax in 2020 by Imen Hbiri, RoboCare has developed a precision farming platform that combines satellite imagery, drone data, IoT sensors, weather intelligence, and agronomic expertise to detect crop stress and disease at an early stage. The platform enables farmers to optimise irrigation, reduce input costs, and improve crop productivity through data-driven decision-making.
According to the company, the platform has achieved water savings of up to 35%, reduced agricultural input use by up to 25%, and increased crop yields by up to 20%. These figures are based on RoboCare’s internal performance data.
RoboCare currently focuses on olive trees, cereals, and processing tomatoes—three of the region’s most economically important crops. Its AI models are trained using locally sourced agricultural data, allowing recommendations to reflect regional soil conditions, climate patterns, and farming practices rather than relying on generic global datasets.
The company says its platform already monitors thousands of hectares and has generated thousands of agronomic alerts, helping farmers identify crop health issues before they affect productivity. RoboCare has also established partnerships with agricultural organisations and continues to expand its presence within the international agritech ecosystem.
The new funding will support expansion into additional African and Middle Eastern markets, strengthen the company’s commercial operations, and further enhance its AI capabilities across a broader range of agricultural environments.
As climate change, water scarcity, and rising production costs continue to challenge agriculture across Africa and the MENA region, AI-driven precision farming technologies such as RoboCare’s are becoming increasingly important for improving productivity, resource efficiency, and long-term sustainability.
