SDLG has expanded its agricultural equipment portfolio with the launch of its first utility terrain vehicles (UTVs), unveiling the U113H diesel and U203HEV electric models at ConExpo 2026. Designed to improve productivity across farms and agribusinesses, the new utility vehicles offer practical transport solutions for moving workers, equipment, harvested produce and farm supplies while reducing operating costs and improving efficiency.
Built for demanding agricultural environments, both UTVs are designed to perform a wide range of daily farm tasks, including transporting feed, fertiliser, irrigation equipment, fencing materials and harvested crops. Their ability to switch seamlessly between two-wheel and four-wheel drive allows operators to navigate muddy fields, uneven terrain and rural access roads without interrupting work, making them well suited to the diverse farming conditions found across Africa.
The U113H is powered by a 24.7-horsepower Perkins diesel engine, providing reliable performance for farms where diesel-powered equipment remains the preferred choice. The U203HEV features a 20-kilowatt electric motor powered by a 24 kWh lithium-iron phosphate battery, delivering approximately 26.8 horsepower. SDLG says the electric model offers quiet, zero-emission operation with strong torque, making it ideal for use around livestock facilities, greenhouses, orchards and other areas where reduced noise and emissions are beneficial.
The electric UTV is equipped with a two-stage transmission designed to deliver both high pulling power and efficient travel speeds. Its battery can be charged using portable charging cables, AC charging stations or DC fast chargers, with a full recharge taking approximately one hour under suitable charging conditions. This provides farmers with flexible charging options while helping minimise equipment downtime during busy planting and harvesting seasons.
Both models offer practical capabilities for day-to-day farm operations. They can travel at speeds of up to 31 mph (50 km/h), tow loads of up to 2,205 pounds (1,000 kg) and carry payloads of up to 1,543 pounds (700 kg) in the cargo bed. Their generous ground clearance and rugged design make them suitable for transporting materials across fields, orchards, livestock farms and rural properties.
SDLG has also equipped the UTVs with several features designed to improve operator comfort and productivity. Standard equipment includes electronic power steering, automatic air conditioning, an electrically operated cargo bed, one-touch electric windows, downhill engine braking, electronically controlled differential locks and a high-capacity alternator capable of powering additional agricultural equipment such as sprayers, lighting systems and small utility attachments.
For African agriculture, where mechanisation continues to play an increasingly important role in improving farm productivity, versatile utility vehicles are becoming valuable assets for commercial farms, livestock operations and agribusinesses.
