Syngenta Showcases Crop Solutions at Agitech Expo Mwea

The Agitech Expo in Mwea attracted hundreds of farmers eager to explore practical, science-led innovations designed to improve crop productivity, strengthen farm profitability and support sustainable agriculture.

The Expo has become an important knowledge-sharing platform for farmers across the Mt. Kenya region. Syngenta drew strong interest with its crop programmes covering tomato, coffee, maize, potato and rice — key value chains that contribute to food security and farmers’ livelihoods.

Farmers had the opportunity to engage directly with Syngenta agronomists, explore emerging agricultural technologies and learn about the company’s latest crop protection and crop health solutions. Featured products included Miravis® Duo, Orondis® Ultra and Vixeran®, alongside established brands such as Quadris®, Revus®, Servian®, Ampligo® and Pegasus®.

A key focus of the sessions was responsible resistance management and sustainable farming practices. Syngenta experts highlighted the importance of appropriate product rotation, correct application timing and integrated crop management to help maintain product effectiveness, protect the environment and support healthier crops and more consistent harvests.

Farmers showed particular interest in the newer solutions and their potential roles in disease control, pest management and improved nutrient-use efficiency. Many also sought tailored, practical recommendations to address specific field challenges and improve yields.

Speaking at the event, Syngenta agronomists emphasised that agricultural innovation must go hand in hand with responsible product use.

“Our goal is to ensure farmers not only have access to world-class solutions, but also the knowledge to use them responsibly for long-term productivity,” the agronomists noted.

Day Two of the Agitech Expo continues tomorrow, offering farmers further opportunities to engage with agricultural experts, participate in live crop clinics and gain practical insights into crop management.

Farmers who missed the opening day are encouraged to attend the Expo in Mwea to explore the latest agricultural solutions, learn from Syngenta specialists and discover practical approaches to improving farm productivity and profitability.
