Delivering farmer-focused solutions with Corteva’s Enversa herbicide

Global pure-play agriculture company, Corteva Inc. recently launched Enversa, a herbicide dedicated to delivering flexible and lasting weed control in soybean and cotton fields

After receiving registration from the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in December 2023, the herbicide with pending state registrations, is expected to be available for use on soybeans, cotton, corn, sorghum, peanuts and sugar beets in the 2025 growing season.

According to strategic marketing manager at Corteva Agriscience, Shawna Hubbard, Enversa will be the first soybean and cotton herbicide in the company’s portfolio to feature a proprietary encapsulated acetochlor component. This complements tank-mix partners by enabling the movement of herbicide from the leaf surface to the soil, resulting in a residual barrier around the soybean or cotton plant. This in turn helps protect plants from emerging weeds.

Moreover, to help navigate challenging weather conditions, the Enversa herbicide provides farmers with a wide application window which includes preplant up to R2 and first bloom for soybeans and cotton respectively. In addition, the herbicide also offers easy handling and tank-mix compatibility, particularly with Enlist One herbicide for Enlist E3 soybeans and Enlist cotton.

Extended weed control for a maximum period of one month is also offered by Enversa. This is applicable on more than 25 of the toughest broadleaf and grass weeds, including Palmer amaranth and waterhemp. The herbicide also fits perfectly into a programme approach with other notable soybean herbicides by Corteva, including Sonic and Trivence.
