Berry’s SilotitePro Films Revolutionize Bale Wrapping with Advanced Technology for Improved Silage Quality and Sustainability

Combining the requirements of modern bale wrapping – improved silage quality, reducing plastic usage, and compatibility with new and advanced baling equipment, Berry’s range of SilotitePro balewrap films – including its latest launch, SilotitePro®1800 Sustane® – uses patented technology that reduces film thickness and increases roll lengths* helping farmers improve efficiencies and meet their sustainability goals.

Utilising advanced 7- and 9-layer blown co-extrusion technology, SilotitePro films come in lengths of 1800 and 2000 metres that enable farmers and contractors to wrap more bales per reel*. This results in reduced downtime and increased productivity in the field, all without compromising the quality and integrity of the wrapped silage.

“Thanks to our patented Pro technology, we can effectively lightweight films while maintaining mechanical strength and oxygen barrier profiles – producing top quality bales that help to reduce fodder waste while decreasing overall plastic use,” explained Bart Geeraert, Commercial Director, Berry Global.

“Additionally Pro Technology allows for a more stable production process, exhibiting fewer variations in thickness to ensure uniformity throughout the roll, resulting in fewer breakages and less downtime,” he continued.

For even greater results, SilotitePro films can be paired with Baletite baler film using the Film&Film (F&F) dual wrapping method. Replacing net wrap, Baletite can be used on most modern combi-wrappers and helps to create more uniform and compact bales that can better withstand handling, reduce silage losses, and simplify opening and feed distribution. Both films are packaged in an easy-to-open PE sleeve that can be recycled together, without the need for separation^.

“Increasingly becoming the solution of choice for European farmers, the Silotite brand delivers a best-in-class solution that meets our customers high-performance standards across quality, functionality, user experience, innovation, and sustainability,” concluded Bart Geeraert.
