Farmer Built Monitors

OutFARMING, LLC. is a 12 year old business that is highly praised by farmers on Facebook and YouTube.  Located in the United States Midwest (Iowa), Jim Poyzer started selling monitors after people found out what he had made for himself.  Jim is a computer guy who came back to farming at the age of 59.  He didn’t have money to buy a good monitor so he built his own.

Out Farming specializes in reasonably priced planter (drill) monitors for smaller farmers with options for mapping and liquid and dry fertilizer.  Several of these features you won’t find on other brand monitors because they are built from a farmer’s perspective of what is useful.

– 1 to 16 rows

– visual updates every half second showing skips, doubles, and out-of-seed for all rows

– audible alarm

– population by row

– skips and doubles by row

– seed hopper level tracking

– warning telling how many rounds until seed runs out

– harness test screen for preseason checks

– seed spacing screen where one can see all rows at once back 500 seeds

– speed vs. performance screen to determine optimal speed for planting

Setup is simple and quick. It uses a standard Android tablet and a control box that hooks to the farmer’s existing harness.  OutFARMING monitors cost much less than most. There’s no annual fee.  Upgrades have been free.  A metric option was added for Mexican farmers.  After English, a French option was created for some Canadian farmers.  Having done this, Jim used AI to quickly create Spanish and German options.  Sub Sahara dialects are a real possibility.

Having a good monitor prevents yield loss when you can see the planter performance in real time, react to problems, and test adjustments.  Options, pricing, and videos are available at https://www.outfarming.com.  Dealer inquiries are welcome.
