How Crop Analysis Supports Sustainable Agriculture: A CNH ‘A Sustainable Year’ Story

CNH is dedicated to advancing the essential work of farmers worldwide through sustainable practices. In the fifth installment of our ‘A Sustainable Year’ series, we explore how real-time crop analysis contributes to sustainability by leveraging data-driven technology to enhance efficiency, minimize waste, and increase profitability.

Our 2023 acquisition of machine vision company Augmenta has empowered us to offer cutting-edge “sense and act” application technology. This innovation allows farmers to manage their crops more effectively, without the complexity of analyzing large data sets to determine optimal input levels, such as fertilizer, for each field.

The article also features an interview with Dr. Ajay Sharda, Director of Research at the Institute for Digital Agriculture and Advanced Analytics at Kansas State University, USA. He discusses the key challenges in crop protection, strategies to address them, and the critical role that technology plays in overcoming these obstacles.
