Kwadaso Agric College to be elevated to University of Agriculture

The Director of Human Resource Development and Management Directorate of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture, Mr Lawoety Tetteh, has said plans are underway to upgrade the Kwadaso Agriculture College to a University of Agriculture.

He said the government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the University of Mendel in the Czech Republic to bring the plant to fruition.

Mr Lawoety said Mendel University is to assist Ghana to establish a module similar to the Czech university’s.

Speaking at the launch of the 100th-anniversary of Kwadaso Agriculture College, Mr Lawotey said after the upgrading, other campuses will be established across the country.

He said the campuses will be at Ejura, Wenchi, among others.

For his part, the Principal of the Kwadaso Agriculture College, Rev. Benjamin Asante Mensah, enumerated some challenges the college is facing, including the lack of classrooms and accommodation for the staff.
